Group meeting – May 30th, 2016

The sixth group’s meeting had the object of discussion the initial idea of Master student Antonio Carlos Franco proposed project that discusses Dynamic capabilities analysis: the GVT case.


As it is about a first draft of the proposed research project, several suggestions were made mainly regarding theory, methodology and field data gathering. The supervisor, Professor Bruno,  and other researchers made their comments on various topics of the proposed dissertation suggested. The introduction, the theoretical framework and methodology were discussed in order to improve the work of the Master student and Professor Bruno remarked that theory and research methodology should be at the service of what is intended to research.

Next meeting agenda – 13/06/2016
The next meeting, on 13 June,  will be keen to discuss the pre-project about networks analysis and complexity levels, that will be presented by PhD student Carla Rúbia Maier.

Group meeting - March 21th, 2016

The first meeting of the first semester of 2016 began with professor Bruno explaining the group’s agenda. He showed to those present the agenda and the research’s distribution that each member is responsible for carrying out, whether articles or master's and doctoral research projects, that will be shared and discussed in the group in order to point out ways and guidelines to improve the quality of research.

Professor Bruno also shared how was his participation in the International HR Conference in Sidney and the news and articles that have been featured and award-winning, trending academic discussions and how all these subjects are close to the topics studied in our research group. He also brought up his interest in the research gap that identifies the studies surrounding People Management related to context issues. He stressed that this is an important aspect to point out and to take into account in studies on HRM.




Next, Professor Luis Gabriel presented a proposed statistical analysis (moderation, mediation and structural equation modeling) done with an updated database of Paraná Innovation Compass (Bussola da Inovação do Paraná) and used by former PhD student Augusto, in his thesis. The purpose of this further analysis is to produce an academic article.



As the topic involved robust statistics analysis and, hence,  not common to all group’s members, Professor Bruno enlightened the fundamental concepts of moderation, mediation and structural equation modeling for attendant’s better understanding.

Group meeting - May 16th, 2016



The fifth meeting of GPECGP aimed to discuss the initial thesis idea and pre-project of PhD student Gislaine Baniski, which studies the adaptation of people management practices (HPWS) and Interculturality - a study in a Swedish origin company located in Brazil.
As her work is in pre-project phase, several suggestions provided were mainly theoretical focused and research methodology related as well as issues about field data gathering.

The student supervisor, Professor Bruno, made his considerations and stressed that research gap must come from theory and research methodology should be at the service of what is intended to search!

Group meeting - May 2nd, 2016



Today’s meeting was devoted to discuss the research idea and project outline of graduate student Tavany Cibele, who aims to understand how competency management program institutionalization occurs in a local firm that has been using the HRM program for more than 8 years.

After her presentation, group members made their contributions, having always in mind the goal of contributing to the advancement of the theoretical model and help the graduate student with different point of views, other lenses, and treat research gaps before its qualification. 


Professor Bruno provided general guidelines for overall improvement and advancements in the pre-project such as literature focus, attention to the methodology issues and research problem.
