The Strategy, Competence and People Management Research Group GP-ECGP, among its objectives, the Group examines the interaction between organizational strategies and people management, assuming that people through their perception, creativity and actions, are essential to strategies implementation. It studies the strategic process, business models and organizational typologies, deepening its interrelationship with people management. Yet, the Group investigates the role of people in the design and alignment between management models and policies. It works particularly the organizational and individual competencies. The main theoretical approach is the Resource Based View (RBV).

Themes that are addressed in the Group: Strategy and competences; competence management systems; high performance working systems (HPWS); organizational competences and resources (strategic alliances, merger and acquisitions, etc.); business models; Performance Measurement Systems (Balanced Scorecard); intangible assets assessment (intellectual capital); and strategy implementation, among others.

The Group character is to develop researches that will have visibility beyond the academic world, either for adding value to business audience (through the development of methodologies and processes to improve the design and implementation of organizational strategies), or to contribute to the quality of people management inside modern organizations.
