The first meeting of the first semester of 2016 began with professor Bruno
explaining the group’s agenda. He showed to those present the agenda and the research’s
distribution that each member is responsible for carrying out, whether articles
or master's and doctoral research projects, that will be shared and discussed
in the group in order to point out ways and guidelines to improve the quality
of research.
Professor Bruno also shared how was his participation in the
International HR Conference in Sidney and the news and articles that have been
featured and award-winning, trending academic discussions and how all these subjects
are close to the topics studied in our research group. He also brought up his
interest in the research gap that identifies the studies surrounding People
Management related to context issues. He stressed that this is an important
aspect to point out and to take into account in studies on HRM.
Next, Professor Luis Gabriel presented a proposed statistical analysis
(moderation, mediation and structural equation modeling) done with an updated
database of Paraná Innovation Compass (Bussola da Inovação do Paraná) and used
by former PhD student Augusto, in his thesis. The purpose of this further
analysis is to produce an academic article.
As the topic involved robust statistics analysis and, hence, not common to all group’s members, Professor
Bruno enlightened the fundamental concepts of moderation, mediation and
structural equation modeling for attendant’s better understanding.
